Product Description

Is the Jesus of the Bible the same as the Eucharist Jesus of Catholicism?

Or is this a different Jesus?

Description: Many Christians think that the Christian tradition of communion is the same as the Catholic tradition of the Eucharist. But this is not so. The Eucharist (i.e., Transubstantiation), is a Catholic term for communion when the bread and the wine actually become the very body and blood of Jesus Christ, thus when taken the partaker supposedly experiences the presence of God. These transformed elements are placed in what is called a monstrance and can then be worshipped as if worshipping God Himself. The implications are tied in with salvation.

With the Eucharist, salvation becomes sacramental (participation in a ritual) as opposed to justification by faith in Christ alone. While this mystical experience called the Eucharist cannot be upheld through Scripture, there appears to be an increase of interest by evangelical Christians towards this practice.

Another Jesus

This is a great book. Roger Oakland takes difficult ideas and explains them. Throughout he grounds his work in scripture. His careful scriptural exposition at the beginning of the book was much appreciated, though readers may find that they get impatient for the "meat" to be given. However, every word is necessary. Further, Mr. Oakland is a sensitive writer. I would recommend this for family and friends of Catholics. It will at least give you ideas about how to pray for someone who is adding through devotions and ceremony to the finished work of Christ. Further, it helps prepare Christians who may not realize the extend to which the deception of our times have spread.

A book ALL Believers should read.

Because there are multitudes of false doctrines abounding, believers need to be aware of the subtlety of the devil. Many churches and pastors are recommending their flock to read Jesus Calling. They are either deceived or demonic.

Another Jesus

This arrived sooner than I thought it would. Haven't had a chance yet to read it yet but, being by Roger Oakland, I know it will be a thoroughly researched and honest book.

Scripturally Illuminating ~ Logically Sound

Viewed from a Protestant perspective, some of the Roman Catholic beliefs and practices are shocking and incomprehensible. It is curious that these teachings rarely come to light; for most likely the majority of people don't understand the vast gulf that separates Protestant and Catholic doctrines.

As Roger Oakland writes: "If Satan wanted to counterfeit the Jesus of the Bible, wouldn't it be reasonable to suggest this counterfeit Jesus would much resemble the biblical Jesus, mixed together with characteristics that are not Biblical?"

Thankfully the author has diligently studied and has had the courage to bring these rather obscure practices (unknown to most Christians) into the light. 'Another Jesus?' includes many testimonies of Protestant clergy / and others that have left the church to embrace Catholicism and their reasons for doing so, and many other fascinating topics.

A very important book, it will surprise and solidify your understanding that the Roman Catholic Church is founded upon dogma that is outside the scriptures of the Holy Word of God.
