Now, when Scripture tells us to test all things, this is not a mere take-it -or-leave-it suggestion. It is becoming more and more clear that most churches (and most individual Christians too) are not doing this simple thing because the level of apostasy and heresy in the church today is mind-boggling and growing by the day.

We know this booklet is going to ruffle some feathers by challenging the Alpha Course. But as the late apologist Walter Martin said, “Controversy for its own sake is sin. Controversy for the sake of truth is a divine mandate.” In light of that, we will state our case for the many unbiblical problems with the Alpha Course and leave it to the reader to decide if it is of any value to the church.

A Slippery Slope

Having encountered the ‘Alpha’ course some years ago, I was acutely aware of it’s pitfalls and associated dangers and especially those it might present to anyone seeking spiritual answers; the course lays a snare on the path that anyone seeking a spiritual experience might walk into. This booklet provides a quick heads-up for anyone who has encountered the course and is unsure where it might lead without over-burdening the newcomer. Timely material to keep in your back-pocket, just in case.
