Full Text of In the Beginning God

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Genesis 1:1).

“All things were made by Him [the Lord Jesus Christ]; and without Him was not anything made that was made” (John 1:3).

“The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” (Genesis 2:7).

But Man

listened to the voice of the tempter, “Hath God said?” (Genesis 3:1);

lusted after the fruit of the tree which God commanded he was not to eat; he ate of it and communion with God was severed;

lost forever that place of innocence; lost his relationship with God; lost his life and became dead in sins.

Man sinned; he disobeyed God

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (Romans 5:12). “As by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners” (Romans 5:19). “All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap” (Galatians 6:7). “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23).

Guilty before God

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight” (Romans 3:19-20).

“But God

. . . who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins” (Ephesians 2:4-5);

. . . commendeth His love toward us” (Romans 5:8).

“When the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son” (Galatians 4:4).

“While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us” (Galatians 3:13). “God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:17).

True Love

“Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son” (1 John 4:10).

“God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

“The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).

Repentance

“[God] commandeth all men everywhere to repent: because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness” (Acts 17:30-31).

“We are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:20-21).

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved”
(Acts 4:12).
